Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking passionate SEND Teaching Assistants to work across specialist schools in Bristol and surrounding areas. The roles can range from day-to-day supply to long-term placements, with flexible start dates and temp-to-perm opportunities.

You will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, SEMH, complex learning and medical needs, providing 1:1, small-group and classroom support while collaborating with teachers and therapists.

SEND Teaching Assistant – Specialist Settings

Location: Bristol
Pay: £95–£110 per day PAYE

Connex Education Partnership is seeking passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to work across specialist schools and SEND settings in Bristol and the surrounding areas.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants and SEND professionals who want to support children and young people with additional needs in specialist educational environments.

Whether you’re looking for flexible day-to-day supply, a consistent long-term placement or a potential route into a permanent position, Connex can offer opportunities to suit your experience and availability.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to provide high-quality support to pupils with a range of additional and complex needs.

Depending on the setting and your experience, this may include supporting pupils with:

  • Autism / ASC
  • SEMH and emotional regulation needs
  • SLD / PMLD
  • Complex learning needs
  • Communication and interaction difficulties
  • Sensory needs
  • Physical and medical needs
  • Challenging behaviour
  • Multiple and complex disabilities

Your responsibilities may include:

Our specialist SEND vacancies can include:

Day-to-day supply – Flexible work across different specialist settings, allowing you to choose when and where you work.

Short- and long-term placements – Greater consistency and the opportunity to become part of a specialist school team.

Temp-to-perm opportunities – Start through Connex and, where appropriate, move into a permanent position with the school.
