Job summary

Keys Education is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for Lexden Hall School in Colchester to support SEND provision, enable learners to access the curriculum, and assist with strategies informed by Occupational Therapy and Speech & Language Therapy guidance. You will work alongside the SENDCO, teaching staff, and Clinical Team to help pupils progress.

The role requires a genuine commitment to SEND, safeguarding, and a DBS check.

Qualifications

Two years’ experience in a SEND environment or equivalent
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous
Committed to supporting SEND pupils and safeguarding

Responsibilities

Assist pupils with learning activities under teacher guidance
Support social, emotional and behavioural development using trauma-informed approaches
Help manage behaviour in line with school policy
Encourage pupil engagement and independence in tasks
Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of resources
Support record-keeping and monitoring of pupil progress
Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly learning environment
