Job summary

Irlam and Cadishead Academy is seeking a Teaching Assistant to work with students on a one-to-one basis, in small groups and within the classroom, helping to remove barriers to learning and promote positive outcomes for all.

The successful candidate will enrol on and complete a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification within 18 months if not already held, and will support students with SEND, assessments and activities across Key Stages 3 and 4. A safeguarding focus is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in a school setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class support to students with SEND to ensure access to the curriculum.
• Deliver targeted intervention programmes in small group and one-to-one settings.
• Assist with planning and adapting activities for individual needs.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENDCo.
• Promote positive behaviour, independence and resilience.
• Support use of ICT and assistive technologies.
• Prepare and maintain learning resources and equipment.
• Support homework clubs, booster sessions and other activities for Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Assist with examinations, assessments and administrative duties as required.
