Job summary

The Role As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with PMLD, complex needs, and medical requirements.
• Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support communication, sensory development, independence, and wellbeing.
• Assist with personal care, mobility, and medical support where required.
• Help deliver personalised learning activities.
• Encourage pupils to engage, explore, and develop new skills.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and the wider support team.
• Create a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND is desirable.
• Personal experience as a parent, carer, or family member of someone with SEND is welcomed.
• A caring, patient, and compassionate approach.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to understand individual needs.
• A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude.
• A willingness to learn and develop within a specialist SEND environment.
• The ability to work as part of a supportive team.
