Job summary

Danecourt School is recruiting a permanent SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism, speech and language needs and sensory differences. The role is term-time only, 28.75 hours per week during school hours, and involves working with teachers and therapists in small classes.

You will help deliver personalised learning, provide emotional and personal care support where needed, and contribute to a safe, nurturing classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Experience of SEND or an NVQ Level 2 is valued but not essential.
• Patience, empathy and a positive approach are required.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills are important.

Responsibilities

• Support individual pupils and small groups within the class team.
• Help create a safe, engaging and nurturing classroom environment.
• Deliver personalised learning and interventions.
• Provide emotional and personal care support where required.
• Support pupils' learning, communication, confidence and independence.
• Work alongside teachers, therapists and other colleagues.
