Job summary

Danecourt School in Lewes is recruiting a permanent SEND Teacher to support children with complex needs, including autism, communication needs and sensory processing differences. The role centres on personalised learning, leading a class team and working with therapists and families so that children get joined-up support.

Classes are small, with teaching assistants and therapists working around each child, and the post is term-time, 39 weeks a year.

Qualifications

• QTS is required.
• Enhanced DBS check.
• Satisfactory references and online checks.

Responsibilities

• Plan personalised, engaging learning reflecting each child's strengths, needs and next steps.
• Lead the class team.
• Work collaboratively with therapists and other professionals.
• Build strong relationships with families to provide joined-up support at school and beyond.
• Adapt teaching and celebrate progress in communication, independence, relationships and learning.
