Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to support children with complex needs across Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley. You’ll provide compassionate support, including personal care and moving and handling, helping learners feel safe and ready to learn.

In this role you’ll work with teachers and therapists to foster communication, independence and emotional wellbeing. Immediate and September starts are available, with opportunities across mainstream, SEND and alternative

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or adults with complex needs.
• Confident in providing personal care and moving and handling support.
• Patient, caring and able to build positive relationships.
• Works well as part of a team.
• Genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with complex learning needs, autism, PMLD, physical disabilities and additional needs.
• Assist with personal care, ensuring pupils are treated with dignity and respect at all times.
• Use moving and handling techniques safely and confidently.
• Encourage communication, independence and emotional wellbeing.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to create a positive learning environment.
• Help pupils take part in classroom activities and celebrate every achievement, no matter how big or small.
