Supply Desk is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a friendly school in the Uxbridge area. The role focuses on pupils with SEND, including ASC, non-verbal communication needs and behavioural challenges, providing one-to-one and small-group support.

You will work with teachers to implement learning plans, help students regulate emotions, develop communication skills and promote independence, with safeguarding training and ongoing local support.

Qualifikationen

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly ASC, non-verbal communication needs or behavioural challenges.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach to supporting pupils with complex needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Aufgaben

• Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEND, including ASC and complex needs.
• Support non-verbal pupils with communication, using appropriate strategies and alternative communication methods.
• Help manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support strategies, patience and consistency.
• Assist pupils with emotional regulation, sensory needs and transitions throughout the school day.
• Work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement individual learning plans and support pupils’ development.
• Encourage independence, social interaction and engagement in classroom activities.
• Help maintain a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment that meets each pupil’s individual needs.
