Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a dedicated full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to work across primary schools in Rotherham, supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2.

You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, assist children with ASD/ADHD, promote inclusive learning, and work closely with teachers to help pupils access the curriculum. A safeguarding mindset is essential to this role.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school.
• Has experience supporting SEND pupils within the classroom.
• Has experience working with children across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• Has experience supporting children with ASD and/or ADHD.
• Is patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Can work effectively as part of a wider school team.
• Is confident supporting pupils with a range of learning and behavioural needs.
• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• A Team Teach qualification, or similar behaviour management qualification, would be highly beneficial, although this is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND across KS1 and KS2.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.
• Support children with ASD, ADHD and other additional needs.
• Help pupils to access the curriculum and develop their confidence and independence.
• Work closely with class teachers and other support staff.
• Assist with classroom activities and learning interventions.
• Help promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive learning environment.
• Provide pastoral and emotional support where appropriate.
• Adapt your approach to meet individual pupils' needs.
