Job summary

Empowering Learning is seeking Teaching Assistants for SEND schools in Richmond/Twickenham. The role is full-time, long-term, Monday to Friday, term-time only, with hours from 8:30am to 4:00pm.

You will support students academically and emotionally in a small class, work with teachers and the wider team to positively manage challenging behaviour, and act as a role model to build confidence, resilience and essential life skills.

Qualifications

• Patience, resilience and ability to build trusting relationships.
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
• Kind but firm approach to support learning and personal development.
• Ability to motivate and engage students with SEND.
• Experience is beneficial, but willingness to learn is valued.

Responsibilities

• Support students academically and emotionally in a small class (≈10 students).
• Work closely with teachers and school team to manage behaviour positively.
• Act as a positive role model to help students develop confidence and life skills.
• Take part in leadership support and opportunities for progression.
