Job summary

Crosshill School in Darwen is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 2 to support pupils with SEND. The role is a permanent, full-time position at 32.5 hours per week, SCP3–5 with an actual salary of £19,352 to £19,967.

You will work closely with teachers to deliver learning activities, assist with EHCPs and personal care where required, monitor progress and help create an inclusive classroom. Closing date 6 October 2026; start from 2 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually and in groups to access learning and participate fully in school life.
• Assist with the implementation of EHCPs and behaviour plans where required.
• Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Support the delivery of learning activities and adapt tasks to pupil needs.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Help maintain a safe, engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
• Support pupils during breaktimes, educational visits and school activities.
