Job summary

St Mary's Catholic Primary School in Dukinfield is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 2 SAN on a fixed-term basis until 31 August 2027. The role is full-time, 35 hours per week, term-time only over 39 weeks per year, including inset days.

The successful candidate will support students who require help to overcome barriers to learning, with experience of high needs, EHCPs and SEND. They will deliver targeted support and work within a Catholic multi-academy trust, with opportunities for CPD.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with high needs, EHCPs and SEND.
• Ability to support students to overcome barriers to learning.
• Ability to deliver therapy programmes of work and ILPs under supervision.

Responsibilities

• To provide support for students who require help to overcome barriers to learning.
• Provide specialist support in a specific area of the curriculum
• Work with groups of students under the supervision of the teacher including the delivery of therapy programmes of work and the implementation of ILPs
• Assist the teacher to ensure a safe classroom and outdoor environment
• Supervise groups and occasionally whole classes for a session / lesson in the classroom or outside the main teaching area as required
