Job summary

St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Dukinfield, is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 2 SAN on a fixed-term basis until 31 August 2027. The role is full-time (35 hours per week) during term-time over 39 weeks a year, including inset days. Experience with high needs, EHCPs and SEND is welcomed.

The successful candidate will support students, work with groups, and assist with therapy programmes and ILPs under the teacher's supervision, while helping maintain a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting students with high needs, EHCPs and SEND.
• Ability to adapt to challenging situations and maintain a positive approach.
• Experience of working as part of a school team to support learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for students who require help to overcome barriers to learning.
• Provide specialist support in a specific area of the curriculum.
• Work with groups of students under the supervision of the teacher including delivery of therapy programmes and ILPs.
• Assist the teacher to ensure a safe classroom and outdoor environment.
• Supervise groups and occasionally whole classes for a session / lesson in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.
