Job summary

Envision Education in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND, including Autism, ADHD and speech and language needs, within an inclusive school.

You will work 1:1 or in small groups, support daily activities, and help pupils develop academic and social skills while maintaining a safe, stimulating learning environment. DBS Update Service preferred, and UK residency or visa is required.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A calm, patient, caring, and resilient approach.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming, ambitious, and inclusive school in Hemel Hempstead for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism (ASC), ADHD, and speech and language needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging, inclusive, and accessible lessons.
  • Provide 1:1 and/or small group support, adapting daily activities to meet individual learning needs.
  • Encourage pupils' independence, confidence, and social development during learning sessions, therapies, and playtimes.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment where every child can progress and succeed.
What We're Looking For:
  • Previous experience working with children in the UK is essential; experience supporting children with SEND, Autism, ADHD, or other additional needs is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A calm, patient, caring, and resilient approach.
  • A positive attitude and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
