Job summary

Prospero Teaching are recruiting for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Huyton. This long-term position supports pupils with additional needs in an inclusive learning environment.

You will provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils access learning, develop confidence and social skills, and work closely with the class teacher to tailor strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience as SEND TA or in a similar support role.

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Huyton. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to secure a long-term position supporting pupils with additional needs within a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support to pupils across the school, helping them to access learning and develop their confidence, independence and social skills. You may work on a 1:1 basis, within small intervention groups and alongside the class teacher to provide personalised support.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will ideally have experience supporting children with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties or learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
• Support pupils with their academic, emotional and social development.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role.
• Experience supporting children with SEND is highly desirable.
• A patient, caring and consistent approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Relevant Teaching Assistant, SEND or childcare qualifications are desirable but not essential.
