Job summary

Connex Education Partnership in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants and Care Workers to support children and young people with complex additional needs across partner schools.

You will work one-to-one or in small groups, supporting learning and independence, with opportunities for career progression, DBS checks, and training; DBS Update Service required or willingness to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or vulnerable individuals with additional or complex needs.
• Patient, calm and compassionate approach.
• Confidence handling challenging or distressed behaviour.
• Willingness to provide personal care when required.
• Current DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply through Connex Education.
• Proof of the right to work in the UK.

SEND Teaching Assistant & Carer

Location: Stoke-on-Trent (ST21)
Pay: £90–£120 per day, depending on experience and hours

Connex Education is looking for compassionate, resilient and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants and Care Workers to support children and young people with complex additional needs across our partner schools in Stoke-on-Trent.

This is a rewarding opportunity for people with experience in education, care, support work or healthcare, as well as graduates and individuals looking to build a career working with children with special educational needs and disabilities.

The Role

You could be supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, including:

• Autism and communication difficulties
• ADHD and sensory processing needs
• Speech, language and communication needs
• Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
• Complex learning difficulties and disabilities
• Challenging or distressed behaviours
• Personal care and intimate care requirements

You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to provide one-to-one or small-group support, helping pupils access learning, develop independence and feel safe, supported and included.
