Job summary

TeacherActive is hiring a Teaching Assistant in Bingham, Nottinghamshire for a full-time role during term time. The position offers 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND, guided by EHCPs, to promote confidence and positive behaviour.

You will work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and external professionals to maintain a safe learning environment. We welcome applicants with SEND experience, strong communication, and resilience.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND (Autism, ADHD or complex needs).
• Patience, care and resilience with learners.
• Clear communication and teamwork with staff.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing as a Teaching Assistant:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
• Assisting with tailored learning activities guided by EHCPs
• Promoting confidence, independence and positive behaviour

• Helping to maintain a safe, engaging and supportive classroom environment
• Temp-to-perm opportunity available for the right person

We’d Love to Hear from You If You:

• Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND (Autism, ADHD or complex needs)
• Are patient, caring and resilient
• Communicate clearly and enjoy working as part of a team
• A proven track record in supporting behaviour that challenges
• Understand safeguarding and child protection expectations
• Have school or specialist-setting experience (desirable but not essential)
