SEND Teaching Assistant Outdoor & Therapeutic Education Setting

Location: Bingham Full-Time Term-Time Only

Short-Term Contract with Potential for Long-Term Placement

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: GBP90 - GBP120 per day

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional needs? We re proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Bingham, supporting their search for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This unique provision, set in woodland and farm-based environments, provides bespoke education to children with complex trauma, mental health, behavioural and attachment needs. Guided by a progressive model (Playfulness, Love, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy), the school fosters a nurturing, therapeutic space where children can feel safe, grow emotionally, and progress academically.

The School boasts a commendable mission of promoting respect for authority figures and developing emotional insight and self-management within a learning setting. Utilising the school's location for outdoor learning has been a main priority for the setting and they will continue to bolster the personal development of their students with this.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

1. Support pupils across all Key Stages, including those with Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs
2. Work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored interventions
3. Use the natural environment to engage and inspire pupils in their learning
4. Bring patience, empathy, and resilience to help young learners thrive
5. Be proactive and confident in managing challenging behaviours

You ll need:

1. Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
2. Confidence in supporting students with SEMH and behavioural challenges
3. A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification (CACHE or equivalent)
4. Team-Teach or MAPA training (desirable but not essential)
