Job summary

Salendine Nook is seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant Level 3 (SEND pathway) to support SEND pupils in the classroom. The role is term-time, 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with duties including one-to-one support, small group work, and helping pupils access the national curriculum.

Training provided by LMP Education; 16-month duration. Wages start at £8.50 per hour, rising to National Minimum Wage after 12 months for those over 19.

Qualifications

• Teaching Assistant Level 3 - SEND pathway
• GCSE Maths and English at A-C or equivalent
• 16-month training programme with LMP Education

Responsibilities

• To undertake duties in accordance with school practices and procedures, upholds the school's philosophies
• To work under the direction of the class teacher ensuring progress is recorded in the learning objectives
• Under guidance supervise activities and assist with pupil management
• Provide one-to-one support or small group work to reinforce teaching approaches
• Support pupils to access the national curriculum and participate in school life
• Deal with pupils requiring physical restraint using TEAM-TEACH under direction of the Principal
