Job summary

New Directions Education Ltd is seeking a compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our committed team in Southport, starting ASAP. You will support children with SEND to achieve their potential in a nurturing, inclusive environment, working with teachers, the SENDCo, parents and external agencies.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, help with differentiated learning activities, and promote independence, confidence and wellbeing while building strong relationships with students.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEND needs.
• Support teachers with differentiated and engaging learning activities.
• Help students with academic progress, emotional wellbeing, social development and independence.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in the classroom.
• Build strong, positive relationships with students.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with ASC, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH and other learning difficulties.
