Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant for a long-term role at a welcoming primary school in Wathamstow, starting in September. You will provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND to help them access learning and achieve their goals.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting children with SEND, a calm, proactive approach, and strong teamwork. Qualifications are desirable but not essential with relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a school or similar setting.
• A calm, patient and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential with suitable experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND.
• Help pupils access learning, build confidence and achieve individual goals.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCO and external professionals.
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote independence throughout the school day.
