Job summary

Academics is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Birkenhead, Wirral. This full-time placement supports pupils with Autism, ADHD, and other learning needs in 1:1 and small groups.

Ideal candidates are patient, resilient with strong communication and DBS check or willingness to process one through Academics. Salary is paid daily at £95-£105. The agency offers local placements, consistent work and professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience as SEND TA or with SEND children in care/education.
• Excellent communication, resilience and a child-centred approach.
• Enhanced DBS registered or willing to obtain one through Academics.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support aligned to IEPs and sensory routines.
• Support behaviour management, nurture pupil confidence and focus.
• Assist inclusion of core learning activities to ensure equal curriculum access.
• Record progress with SENCOs and support teams.
