Job summary

Life Education Trusts Higham Ferrers Nursery and Infant School is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with speech and independence needs. The role is 31 hours and 15 minutes per week across 39 weeks, term-time only, with a temporary contract.

You will provide one-to-one and small-group classroom support to develop communication, literacy and numeracy skills, including intimate care as required. Paediatric first aid training is desirable; experience with SEND pupils is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with significant speech, language and communication needs.
• Be paediatric first aid trained or willing to complete the course.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

• Support a specific SEND pupil with limited speech and independence skills.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support within the classroom alongside peers.
• Help develop communication, attention, and early literacy and mathematical skills.
