Job summary

Higham Ferrers Nursery and Infant School is seeking a caring SEND Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team, supporting a pupil with limited speech and independence skills. You will provide one-to-one and small-group support in the classroom, helping develop communication, attention, early literacy and numeracy alongside peers.

Hours are 31 hours 15 minutes per week (8:40am–3:25pm, 39 weeks) with a pro rata salary of £25,614–£26,017 (Grade D).

Qualifications

• Experience with children with significant speech, language and communication needs desirable.
• Be prepared to support an intimate care plan.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and value professional development.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and learning activities.
• Be paediatric first aid trained or willing to complete the course.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support to a specific SEND pupil in the classroom.
• Deliver small group support and integrate with peers.
• Support social and learning needs and develop communication, attention, and early literacy and numeracy skills.
