Job summary

Greenside Primary School is seeking an SEND Teaching Assistant to join our very effective team. You will support learners with ASD and other special needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, in a welcoming primary setting.

The role focuses on behaviour support, requires confidence in de-escalation, and a caring, patient approach. You will help students with social and learning needs throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Previous school experience with SEND preferred.
• Be committed to safeguarding and inclusive practices.
• Able to relate to and empathise with pupils and develop trust.
• Effective behaviour management strategies.
• Ability to work as an effective team member.
• Comfortable with 1:1 and small group support.
• Willingness to support social and behavioural needs throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Support learners on a one-to-one basis in class.
• Assist small groups of two to six learners.
• Promote social and behavioural development.
• Contribute to an inclusive learning environment.
