Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd. is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant for a Hayes primary school. The role involves supporting pupils with SEND (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and non-verbal learners) on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.

The position starts in September 2026, with trial day on 1st September. Hours are 8:15am to 3:15pm, offering a long-term opportunity with potential for a permanent role within a supportive SEND team.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEND (ASD, ADHD, SEMH or complex needs)
  • Confident supporting non-verbal pupils
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Proactive team player passionate about supporting children

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with access to learning and promote confidence, independence and social development.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to tailor support for individuals and groups.
  • Provide 1:1 support and small group assistance as required to meet individual learning plans.
