Job summary

Teachers UK is seeking a patient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream school in Worksop, working with pupils who need extra support to access learning. The successful candidate will provide targeted support, adapt activities, and assist the class teacher to deliver inclusive lessons in a collaborative school environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or SEN TA.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a mainstream school.
  • Understanding of ASD, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language needs.
  • Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing; enhanced DBS on update service or willing to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs.

  • Help manage behaviour with consistent, supportive strategies.

This is a Full time, long term position, supporting pupils within a mainstream classroom environment. The role may involve working on a 1:1 basis or with small groups, depending on the needs of the school.
