Job summary

Provide Education is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Wakefield, supporting pupils with additional needs. This full-time role focuses on learning, communication and personal development, with access to specialist training and CPD opportunities.

You will support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping with learning activities and personal development while building positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• Recent experience as Teaching Assistant or within an SEN setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Strong communication, patience and resilience.
• Ability to build positive and consistent relationships with pupils.
• Proactive and adaptable approach to support.

Provide Education is seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Wakefield, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. This is a full time position, working with pupils who require additional support with learning, communication and personal development. The school caters for pupils with a variety of needs and provides a highly supportive environment with experienced staff and access to specialist training, making it an excellent opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant looking to develop their experience in a specialist setting.

SEN Teaching Assistant benefits:

• Competitive daily rate (£95-£110 per day, dependent on experience)

SEN Teaching Assistant role requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or within an SEN setting
• Experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs
• Strong communication, patience and resilience
• Ability to build positive and consistent relationships with pupils
• A proactive and adaptable approach
• Willingness to support with personal care if required (training provided)
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:

• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups

• Support pupils with communication, behaviour and engagement
• Help create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
• Work closely with teachers, SENCO and wider support staff
