Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a Teaching Assistant (SEN) in Worksop to support pupils with additional needs and work closely with teachers to enable access to learning. Start date is immediate, with a long-term/temporary, full-time or part-time contract.

You will support one-to-one or small groups, fostering independence and positive engagement in lessons, while maintaining safeguarding best practices and collaborative relationships with staff.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN is desirable.
  • Experience working in a school, care or similar supportive environment is advantageous.
  • A patient, calm and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to respond flexibly to different learning and behavioural needs.
  • Confidence working collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
  • A genuine commitment to helping pupils achieve their potential.

Job Title: Teaching Assistant (SEN)

Location: Worksop

Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you passionate about helping pupils with additional needs access learning and develop their confidence? A supportive school in Worksop is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant (SEN) to join its team.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant (SEN), you will provide targeted support to pupils with special educational needs, working closely with teachers and other school staff. You may work one-to-one or with small groups, helping pupils engage with lessons, manage learning challenges and develop greater independence. Your consistent support can make a real difference to a pupil's experience of school.

To work with GSL Education as a Teaching Assistant (SEN), you should
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.

We also offer, via our partner, access to accredited Education-relevant CPD courses.

In addition to that, GSL Education are currently offering £100 for the successful referral of either Teachers or Teaching Assistants (Ts &Cs apply).
