SEND Teaching Assistant - Secondary School (Wilmslow)
Start Date: September | Daily Rate: £89 - £100 | Full-Time

Are you patient, nurturing, and passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Wilmslow is looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

This is a rewarding role where you'll work closely with students who have a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with identified SEND

  • Adapt learning materials to suit individual learning styles and needs

  • Assist teachers in delivering a differentiated and inclusive curriculum

  • Monitor and support emotional wellbeing and classroom engagement

  • Build trusting relationships with students and act as a consistent, calming presence

  • Work closely with the SENCO and wider support team to track progress and contribute to EHCP reviews

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND (in school, care, or support settings)

  • Calm, resilient, and empathetic with a genuine desire to help students achieve

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Confident in managing behaviour positively and supportively

  • Reliable, proactive, and open to professional development

  • Knowledge of EHCPs and strategies for supporting specific needs (e.g. ASD, SEMH)

  • Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant training

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

  • Make a real difference in the lives of young people
