SEND Teaching Assistant - Secondary School (Wilmslow)
Start Date: September | Daily Rate: £89 - £100 | Full-Time
Are you patient, nurturing, and passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Wilmslow is looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.
This is a rewarding role where you'll work closely with students who have a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with identified SEND
Adapt learning materials to suit individual learning styles and needs
Assist teachers in delivering a differentiated and inclusive curriculum
Monitor and support emotional wellbeing and classroom engagement
Build trusting relationships with students and act as a consistent, calming presence
Work closely with the SENCO and wider support team to track progress and contribute to EHCP reviews
Experience working with children or young people with SEND (in school, care, or support settings)
Calm, resilient, and empathetic with a genuine desire to help students achieve
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Confident in managing behaviour positively and supportively
Reliable, proactive, and open to professional development
Knowledge of EHCPs and strategies for supporting specific needs (e.g. ASD, SEMH)
Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant training
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
