SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND TA

Immediate

Monday Friday 8.30am -3.30pm

Pay rate £90-£110 a day

A fantastic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in St Helens (WA9) requires a talented teaching assistant, with a minimum of 6 months experience working in an educational establishment. Team-Teach training would be beneficial but not essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support students on a one-to-one basis with curriculum support as well as in small groups with class-based activities.

The school supports pupils in Key stages 1 and 2 who display challenging behaviour and have a variety of SEND including SEMH. The role will involve working under the direction of a class teacher. The post is for 5 days per week with the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate.

The school offers ongoing support and guidance and a fantastic welcoming team who provide ongoing support and guidance and are dedicated to meeting the needs of their students.

As a Teaching Assistant / TA, it is essential that you have the following:

• A minimum of 6 months experience in an educational establishment
• Strong behaviour management experience
• Knowledge of working with pupils with challenging behaviour.
• A calm, patient, and caring persona
• Excellent communication skills
• A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
• Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis
