Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Sutton, starting September 2026. This full-time supply role runs Monday to Friday, 8:15am–4:00pm, with flexibility across year groups to support pupils with diverse needs.

Ideal candidates will have SEN experience in a UK primary setting, a patient, calm approach, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant – Mainstream Primary School | Sutton | September 2026

We are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Sutton from September 2026. This is a full-time supply position, Monday to Friday, 8:15am – 4:00pm, offering the opportunity to work flexibly across different year groups and support pupils with a range of additional needs.

The Role
  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEN
  • Working flexibly across different year groups as required
  • Supporting pupils to access learning and participate positively in the classroom
  • Helping to promote positive behaviour, independence and confidence
  • Adapting support to meet individual pupil needs
  • Working closely with class teachers and the wider school team
Requirements
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN in a UK primary school setting
  • Experience working with a range of additional needs
  • A patient, calm and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Salary

£97 per day

Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
