Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support an inclusive primary school in Staines, Middlesex. The role runs full‑time, Monday to Friday, 08:00–15:30, with pay to scale under National PAYE rates.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver tailored educational experiences for pupils with SEND. Responsibilities include one‑to‑one and small‑group support, implementing IEPs, differentiating materials and contributing to safeguarding

Qualifications

  • Level 2/3 Diploma or equivalent in Special Educational Needs, or relevant experience.
  • Experience working with children with SEND (e.g. ASD, ADHD, dyslexia).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; build rapport with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, child protection and inclusive practice.
  • DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support an inclusive learning environment in our primary school. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo, you will help deliver tailored educational experiences for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring their academic, social and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with children who have a range of SEND profiles (e.g., ASD, ADHD, dyslexia).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, child protection and inclusive practice.
  • DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable
  • First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current intervention strategies.
