Job summary

Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join Arbour Vale School in Slough. The role focuses on supporting children with SEND, promoting learning, independence, and wellbeing in a nurturing classroom environment.

Affinity Partnerships is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust for a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join the team at Arbour Vale School.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to provide high-quality support both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. You will play a vital role in promoting student progress, wellbeing, confidence, and engagement in learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with SEND on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.
  • Help pupils develop communication, social, and independence skills.
  • Adapt resources and activities to meet individual learning needs.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.
  • Patient, caring, and committed to inclusive education.
  • A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Able to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Experienced in education, care, youth work, or a similar support role.

Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), Speech and Language Needs, Complex Learning Needs, ADHD, Physical Disabilities, or SEMH needs would be an advantage.
