Job summary

Affinity Partnerships is recruiting on behalf of Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust for a SEND Teaching Assistant at Arbour Vale School in Slough. You will support children with SEND, helping them access learning and develop independence within a caring, inclusive environment.

You will work with teachers and specialists to deliver high-quality support in classrooms and targeted interventions, promoting student progress, wellbeing, and engagement throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Patient, caring, and committed to inclusive education.
• Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Able to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
• Experienced in education, care, youth work, or a similar support role.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEND on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.
• Help pupils develop communication, social, and independence skills.
• Adapt resources and activities to meet individual learning needs.
• Monitor student progress and contribute to reviews and support plans.
• Promote positive behaviour and help create a safe, nurturing learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, families, and external professionals.
