Job Description:
SEND Teaching Assistant – Wallsend, Newcastle

Location: Wallsend, Newcastle (easily accessible by public transport)
Pay: £83.85 – £90 per day
Hours: Full-time and part-time roles available

Protocol Education is seeking compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support students with additional needs in schools across Wallsend. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping children with SEN thrive in their education.

The Role:

As an SEN TA, you will:

  1. Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, and SEMH needs.
  2. Assist in delivering tailored interventions to promote both academic progress and personal development.
  3. Help create a nurturing and inclusive environment where all students feel safe and supported.
  4. Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to implement individual learning plans.
  5. Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour management.
What We’re Looking For:
  1. Experience working with children with SEN (in school, care, or community settings).
  2. Strong communication and empathy skills.
  3. Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic school environment.
  4. A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
