Job summary

TeacherActive Limited in Morpeth is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in a Primary SEND setting with immediate start and long-term, full-time commitment.

You will support pupils with SEND including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language difficulties, assist 1:1 and small group work, and contribute to behaviour support plans. A patient, nurturing approach and strong communication skills are essential to help each learner access their education.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to support pupils with challenging behaviours in SEND settings.
• Experience implementing de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Experience working 1:1 and in small groups to aid learning and social development.
• Strong understanding of EHCPs and adapting support to needs.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND in primary setting to access learning.

Long term - Full Time

Salary: £100 plus per day depending on experience.

I'm looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant who has worked within a SEND classroom.

Ideally you will have experience supporting children with SEND including:

Autism / ASD, ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language Difficulties, and Moderate Learning Difficulties

• A proven track record of supporting pupils with challenging behaviours in a school or alternative provision setting
• Experience implementing behaviour support strategies, de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour management approaches
• Experience working on a 1:1 basis and in small group interventions to support learning, communication and social development
• Strong understanding of EHCPs and the ability to adapt support to meet individual learning and behavioural needs
• A patient, resilient and nurturing approach, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills
