SEND Teaching Assistant

£425-£500 per week depending on experience

Connex Education are seeking an experienced SENDTeaching Assistant to work in a Primary school in Swinton, Salford Manchester. Long term up to 5 days a week from September on going supply cover, potential to go permanent

About the School:

This is a very large school with fantastic facilities. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan which outlines the area of need and what provision and resources are needed to support the pupil.Pupils are ages 5-11 yrs who have variety of additional needs and levels such as PMLD, Autism, SLD, SEMH. The classes are grouped in age as well as needs.

Assignment details:

Long term up to 5 days a week from September on going supply cover, potential to go permanent

The hours are 8.30 to 3.30/4pm Monday to Friday

You will be providing support to children ages 5-11 years old with PMLD, Autism, SLD, SEMH previous experienced working in similar roles is required.

Person specification:

• Excellent communication skills, Empathetic and Patient , being self-regulated and calm. With a positive supportive attitude.
• Knowledge of SEMHUnderstanding of SEMH issues, strategies, and interventions is beneficial
• Experienced supporting individuals with Learning disabilities and/or complex needs
• Experience of supporting children and young people struggle to manage their emotions, behaviour, and relationships, which can impact their learning and overall well-being. Be able to get to know pupils and get a good understanding of needs.
• Be able to interact well with pupils and staff and able to work well as a team.
• Able to provide a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
