Job summary

Keys Education is recruiting a dedicated SEND Support Assistant to work in a classroom setting, delivering tailored 1:1 interventions and collaborating with SENDCo and teachers to meet EHCP outcomes. You will help pupils with autism, ADHD and language needs, adapting activities and recording progress under guidance.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and contributing to a caring, inclusive environment. DBS enhanced checks are required and the post is full-time.

Qualifications

  • Two years’ experience working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision.
  • Level 3 TA qualification is advantageous.
  • Enhanced DBS check required; safeguarding and welfare of children priority.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs and behavioural challenges with targeted interventions.
  • Collaborate with School SENDCo and Assistant SENDCo and EHCP outcomes.
  • Work with teaching staff, welfare teams, clinical professionals and external professionals.
  • Assist pupils with learning activities and adapt support to individual needs under teacher guidance.
  • Record data and monitor pupil progress as directed.
  • Promote pupil social, emotional and behavioural development using trauma-informed approaches.

Job description

To work directly in the classroom to deliver tailored 1:1 interventions and targeted, By expertly implementing bespoke strategies, you will remove barriers to learning, foster independence, and ensure every child is empowered to make meaningful academic and personal progress. In addition, you will assist teachers in delivering education and care to pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours.,

  • Support pupils with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and behavioural challenges while delivering targeted interventions record data for colleagues
  • Collaborate with the School SENDCo delivering interventions and classroom support under guidance of SENDCO and Assistant SENDCO and EHCP outcomes
  • Work closely with teaching staff, welfare teams, clinical professionals, and external professionals
  • Assist pupils with learning activities, adapting support to individual needs under teacher guidance encouraging pupil engagement and independence in learning tasks
  • Support record-keeping and monitoring of pupil progress as directed
  • Assist pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development using trauma-informed approaches and participate in training on trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches
  • The postholder will actively promote and embed the EPIC values (Excellence, Passion, Integrity, Caring) in all aspects of their work and adhere strictly to the Staff Code of Conduct to create a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment that promotes pupil wellbeing and achievement
  • Ensure compliance with Independent School Standards and all relevant health and safety regulations
    A committed and passionate view of students with SEND and SEMH
  • At least two years' experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision
  • A level 3 TA qualification is advantageous, We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All posts require an enhanced DBS check.
    Salary: £26,228 - £27,593 | Full Time (37.5 hours/week), NEST enhanced pension scheme
