Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH at a specialist school in Derby. The role is full-time and long-term with immediate start and SEPTEMBER intake.

You’ll work with pupils with a range of needs, focusing on SEMH, autism, and sensory processing, in a calm, supportive environment. Daily duties include assisting with learning, personal care, and using specialist equipment with full training provided.

SEND Teaching Assistant – SEMH

Location: Derby

Salary: £92.63–£100 per day, paid weekly via PAYE

Contract: Full-time, long-term

Start date: Immediate and SEPTEMBER STARTS

We’re working with a specialist school supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex medical and physical needs. They’re looking for a compassionate, resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time.

This is a hands‑on role where your support genuinely changes lives. No two days are the same, but every day comes with purpose, progress, and plenty of heart.

You will be supporting pupils with a wide range of learning difficulties and complex needs, including autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, communication and/or sensory processing difficulties

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
