Job summary

Operam Education Group in Brentwood is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a pupil with ASD in a full-time role starting as soon as possible. You will help with learning activities, routines and transitions, and support the pupil during lessons and school activities.

We require a patient, calm, encouraging approach and strong communication and teamwork skills. A DBS check is required, and Teaching roles require QTS or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children in an education setting.
• Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally ASD.
• A patient, calm and encouraging approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Confidence following individual support plans and behaviour strategies.
• A genuine commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with ASD across the school day

• Help the pupil engage with lessons, follow instructions and stay on task
• Use agreed strategies to support communication, regulation and positive behaviour
• Work alongside the class teacher, SENDCo and other support staff
• Support the pupil during breaktimes, lunchtimes and wider school activities where needed
• Observe progress and share feedback with the class teacher
• Help create a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment

Role: SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Brentwood

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm

Pay: £450 to £600 per week

We are partnering with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Brentwood that is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a pupil with ASD. This is a full-time role starting as soon as possible, with the potential to continue into the next academic year.
