Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a SEND Teacher to work across Northumberland’s schools and specialist provisions. The role focuses on planning tailored lessons, supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other needs, and partnering with TAs and SENCOs to foster an inclusive learning environment.

You will deliver engaging lessons, monitor progress, and adapt teaching to individual needs while upholding safeguarding and school policies. Immediate and ongoing opportunities available.

Qualifications

• QTS is essential.
• Experience in SEND or specialist settings is preferred.
• Strong understanding of pupil needs across ASD/ADHD/SEMH and related challenges.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress, maintaining records.
• Develop learning strategies to support various abilities.
• Manage classroom behaviour with positive approaches.
• Support academic, social, emotional and personal development.
• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with TAs, SENCOs and other professionals.
• Communicate with colleagues and parents as appropriate.
• Follow safeguarding and school policies.
