Job summary

TeacherActive is currently recruiting for a passionate, experienced and fully Qualified SEND Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive specialist school in the Haringey area.

This opportunity requires a QTS and BSL Level 2 or above, with experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired pupils in a SEND setting. The role is full-time and long-term, offering a competitive daily rate and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• BSL Level 2 or above required.
• Experience teaching in a SEND setting with deaf or hearing-impaired pupils.
• DBS update service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to pupils with SEND.
• Use British Sign Language (BSL) to support communication and learning.
• Support pupils with hearing impairments and additional needs.
• Adapt teaching to meet EHCP targets.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants and SEND staff.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Monitor progress and promote pupil independence.
