Job summary

Unique School Solutions is supporting a large SEND school in Rotherham to recruit a SEND teacher for a maternity cover from November 2026. The role involves planning, delivering and assessing bespoke schemes of work for students aged 5–19 with ASD and PDA, while leading a team of teaching assistants on 1:1 or 2:1 support.

Qualifications

Experience working with children or adults with Special Educational Needs, preferably ASD.
PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Ability to plan and deliver bespoke schemes of work across a range of age groups.
Personal care experience is beneficial.
Good level of physical fitness.
Ability to lead a group of teaching assistants.
Patience, empathy and resilience.

Responsibilities

Plan, deliver and assess bespoke schemes of work for students aged 5–19 with ASD and PDA.
Manage a large team of teaching assistants working 1:1 or 2:1.
Deliver high-quality teaching during maternity cover and contribute to assessments.
