Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a SEND Teacher in Bristol to start in September 2026 on a full-time basis, covering the post until November 2026. You will plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons for secondary students with PMLD and SEMH, working with a supportive staff to maintain a positive learning environment.

The ideal candidate holds QTS, has SEND experience, and demonstrates strong behaviour management, differentiation, and collaborative teamwork in a specialist setting.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience with students with PMLD/SEMH.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management.
• Ability to differentiate lessons for various needs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons to secondary students with PMLD/SEMH.
• Work with support staff to create a safe, positive learning environment.
• Support safeguarding and DBS compliance as required.
• Maintain records and participate in CPD activities.

The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their full potential through personalised learning and a supportive approach.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time SEND Teacher from September 2026 until November 2026. The successful SEND Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons to secondary-aged students with PMLD and SEMH needs, working closely with support staff to create a safe, positive and stimulating learning environment.

Responsibilities

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Experience teaching students with additional needs, particularly PMLD and SEMH
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• The ability to differentiate lessons to meet a range of learning needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A positive, patient and adaptable approach
