Job description

SEND Teacher - Key Stage 4

Location: Northwich, Cheshire

Permanet Position

Are you a teacher who believes that every young person deserves the opportunity to achieve, succeed and discover their potential?

Do you want to join a school where you can challenge traditional teaching approaches, celebrate individual progress and make a genuine difference every single day?

Simply Education is working in partnership with a brand new specialist SEND school in Northwich to recruit a passionate and inspiring Key Stage 4 SEND Teacher to join them as soon as possible on a permanent contract.

Having opened in May 2026, this is an exciting opportunity to join a growing school at the beginning of its journey. With pupil numbers steadily increasing, you will have the chance to become part of the school's development, help shape its future and play an important role in creating an environment where every young person can thrive.

This is an opportunity to be more than just another teacher. You will be joining a developing team where your ideas, experience and contribution can genuinely make a difference.

The Opportunity

As a SEND Teacher, you will deliver a varied and engaging curriculum to Key Stage 4 pupils, helping them develop the knowledge, confidence and skills they need for their next steps in education and beyond.

With small class sizes, you will have the opportunity to really get to know your pupils, understand their individual needs and tailor your teaching to help them achieve their potential.

The school follows a more personalised, primary-style approach to learning, despite working with secondary aged pupils. The emphasis is on building positive relationships, making learning meaningful and supporting pupils to develop both academically and personally.

You will need to be confident teaching across a broad curriculum, with a particular focus on:

  • Delivering Functional Skills Maths and English.
  • Supporting pupils to achieve qualifications up to GCSE level.
  • Making core subjects engaging, accessible and relevant.
  • Creating creative and differentiated lessons that inspire participation.
  • Recognising individual strengths and celebrating progress, no matter how big or small.
  • Developing pupils' confidence, independence and essential life skills.
  • Creating a positive classroom environment where every pupil feels valued and supported.
What Makes You the Right Teacher?

We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about education and understands that success looks different for every young person.

You will ideally have:

  • QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience working as a SEND Teacher or within SEND, SEMH or alternative provision (desirable).
  • The confidence and ability to teach Functional Skills Maths and English, alongside GCSE-level content.
  • The flexibility to deliver a range of subjects rather than working within one specialist discipline.
  • Strong classroom management and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Resilience, patience, creativity and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
  • The ability to see potential where others may see barriers.
Why Join This School?

Joining a brand new SEND school brings a fantastic opportunity to be part of something from the beginning.

With small class sizes, a growing pupil population and a developing team, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Enjoy smaller teaching groups where individual progress and needs can be prioritised.
  • Play an active part in shaping the school's culture, curriculum and future development.
  • Help young people rebuild their confidence and develop a positive relationship with education.
  • Celebrate achievements that can make a life changing difference.
  • Use your creativity and teaching experience to make lessons meaningful.
  • Grow alongside the school as it continues to develop and welcome more pupils.

This is your opportunity to be part of a new school's journey helping to build something special, shaping young lives and creating an environment where every pupil has the opportunity to succeed.
