Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a specialist setting in Shapwick that promotes a child-focused, calm and purposeful ethos for pupils aged 5 to 19, with mental wellbeing and individualised therapeutic support at its heart.

They are looking to appoint a full-time SEND Teacher on a temporary basis from September to teach and support pupils with EHCPs and SEND, adapting lessons and classroom support to meet each learner’s needs.

Qualifications

• QTS qualified to teach SEND students.
• Experience teaching children or young people with SEND.
• Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to individual needs.
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Job Title: SEND Teacher

Location: Shapwick

Start Date: September

Salary: £145 - £245 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist setting in Shapwick that promotes a child-focused, calm and purposeful ethos for pupils aged 5 to 19. The setting places mental wellbeing and individualised therapeutic support at the heart of its approach, while creating a genuine family feel for pupils and staff.

The setting is looking to take on a full-time SEND Teacher on a temporary basis from September. The successful SEND Teacher will teach and support pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans / EHCPs and special educational needs and/or disabilities / SEND, adapting lessons and classroom support to meet pupils' individual learning needs.

The successful SEND Teacher will have:

• QTS
• Experience teaching children or young people with SEND
• Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs
• The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to individual needs
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
