  • Adapting teaching and learning to meet individual pupil needs and abilities.

  • Supporting pupils with complex learning and additional needs.

  • Developing pupils' communication, social, emotional and independence skills.

  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants and other support staff within the provision.

  • Developing positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

  • Implementing individualised learning strategies and support plans.

  • Monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress.

  • Working collaboratively with parents, carers and external professionals where appropriate.

  • Supporting positive behaviour and creating a calm, structured learning environment.

  • Following safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.

The School

The school is based within the NG7 postcode area and has a dedicated High-Level Needs Hub providing specialist support for pupils with additional needs.

You will be joining a supportive team where collaboration, consistency and a pupil-centred approach are key to helping children achieve their potential.

  • Experience working within a SEND or specialist education setting.

  • Experience supporting pupils with high-level or complex additional needs.

  • A strong understanding of inclusive teaching and differentiated learning.

  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • The ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual pupil needs.

  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a wider SEND team.

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND to reach their potential.

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Experience working with pupils with autism, communication and interaction needs, social and emotional needs, or complex learning needs would be highly advantageous.
