Job summary

Prospero Teaching in the UK is seeking Secondary and Post-16 Teaching Assistants to join a specialist secondary and sixth form school in Bury, supporting pupils aged 11-19 with a wide range of complex needs, including autism, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments.

You will provide one-to-one and small group support, assist teachers with personalised learning programmes, help pupils access the curriculum, and support independence and life skills while working

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people with SEND in school, residential, or community settings.
• Calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to managing behaviour.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to helping pupils achieve independence and life success.
• A relevant qualification in support, care, or education is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils across secondary and post-16 classes.
• Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning programmes and ensuring pupils can access the curriculum effectively.
• Support development of independence, life skills, and social engagement.
• Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets.
• Work closely with the school team, families, and external agencies to ensure a nurturing and inclusive environment.
