Job summary

Milk Education in Morpeth, Northumberland, seeks a SEND Support Assistant to support students with a range of special educational needs. Start date September 2026, with 8.30am-3.30pm, Monday to Friday hours.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, adapt activities, and work alongside SENDCo and staff to promote inclusive learning and student progress.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience in an educational setting is desirable but not essential
  • Experienced Support Workers who are open to working with children would fit this role perfectly due to the needs of the students
  • Solid numeracy and literacy skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning to reach their full potential
  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to adapt to the individual needs of each student
  • Ability to work proactively, both independently and as part of a team
  • An Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service (or willingness to apply)

Milk Education working in partnership with an 5-18 SEND school seeking a new SEND Support Assistant to work with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

SEND Support Assistant Key Responsibilities:
